Who We Are

Kink employs a diverse staff of over 100 employees in the Armory, our historic San Francisco production facilities. Some of them include:

Peter Acworth grew up in Derbyshire, England, the son of a sculptor and former Jesuit priest. From a young age, he showed strong entrepreneurial instincts selling vegetables from the family garden and brewing homemade beer to sell to his school friends.

He studied Mathematics at Cambridge University and Management at Ecole HEC, Paris. After completing his Master’s degree, he worked for Baring Brothers in London for 2 years before leaving in 1997 to start a Ph.D. in Finance at Columbia Business School in New York City.

At the end of his first year, Acworth was inspired by a newspaper article about a fireman who had made half a million pounds selling adult content on the Internet. Seeing an opportunity to combine his lifelong interest in bondage with his business acumen, he launched his first website, Hogtied.com, which he ran from the confines of his dorm room for the subsequent year.

In 1998, Acworth decided to leave the PhD program and move to San Francisco to found Cybernet Entertainment. He began by directing in – and sometimes starring in – his own shoots. As the company grew, he hired a team of passionate directors that shared his vision to help create a network of BDSM and fetish websites sites – Kink.com. While he no longer directs, Acworth still is heavily involved in the development of the sites, and can often be found on set.

Peter Acworth has always believed that Kink.com should serve a dual role – as both the highest quality fetish entertainment available, and as a way to demystify the BDSM lifestyle. Under his direction, Kink.com has become a leading advocate for the rights of models, a leader in on-set safety and an educational resource of the BSDM community. Kink.com’s Armory headquarters are regularly used for workshops, fundraisers and parties that benefit the BDSM community.

Acworth continues to be involved in the local community as an advocate for the rights of sexual minorities, a responsible neighbor and business owner and as an emblem of a kinky revolution.

Peter Acworth has been profiled in numerous publications including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wired, and is an Op-Ed blogger at the Huffington Post. He maintains his own blog at PeterAcworth.com. If you are interested in interviewing or learning more about Peter, please contact pr@kink.com.

Claire Adams is the director, on camera dominant, and bondage rigger for Kink’s Hogtied and Device Bondage. Claire is internationally recognized for her rope artistry and extreme BDSM modeling feats. Working professionally as a bondage model and guest rigger, Claire’s work has appeared in feature film and magazine fashion spreads including, most recently, for Steven Klein in Interview.

California-born Dolore fell in love with the art of photography and the politics of sex and gender equality as a teen, studying both at New York University and its prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, and continuing her passions into the BDSM community, exhilarated by the intensity of the work. Upon graduating she landed at Kink.com and moved to San Francisco to direct, perform and develop ideas for Kink.com’s new ventures, elevating both sales and brand recognition for Kink.com and its sites. Donna now lives in LA, where she directs Public Disgrace, Hardcore GangBang and BoundGangBangs.

Maîtresse Madeline is a San Francisco-based actress, dominatrix and BDSM/Fetish director.  Madeline got into the industry originally while going to school in Detroit, Michigan. She began as a webcam model, but moved onto produce her own BDSM content and websites. In 2009, Kink.com recruited her to write, direct and produce their femdom (male submissive/female dominant) sites — a niche that is Madeline’s specialty. She currently runs Kink Bitches, a subset of the Kink that includes the sites Foot Worship, Divine Bitches and Whipped Ass.

Tomcat has been a director for Kink.com for 8 years. He directs Fucking Machines, Ts Seduction, and the site he created, Ts Pussy Hunters. He is happily married to porn star and writer, Lorelei Lee (co-writer of the film About Cherry), loves his dog, running and good bourbon. As an openly transgender man, Tomcat knows what it is like to be in a marginalized community and takes great pride in working for a company that shares the same equality and diversity values that he lives by.

Van Darkholme is the pioneer behind the Kink Men gay BDSM sites. Van began his career as a fashion and fetish model, before moving behind the camera. His first book, Male Bondage: Art Deserves a Witness, was published in 2006, and focuses on Shibari, the Japanese art of rope bondage. Originally from Vietnam, and a master of three languages, Van now lives in San Francisco where he directs five sites: Bound Gods, Bound In Public, Men On Edge, Butt Machine Boys and Naked Kombat.
